Back on the plane we go after just a few days with our tour bus. We were flying into Brussels but then jumping in a van that would take us to the festival which was a little ways away. I thought we were going to be staying in Brussels and the hotel we would always stay because one of my favorite Italian restaurants was right up the street from this particular hotel but no dice. In any case, we had to get to venue soon since this festival, we wouldn’t be in the headliner spot but this 4-day festival has some dope groups on the bill. We happen to be performing on the first day which included groups like Skrillex, Garbage, Rise Against, Blink-182 and The Cure.

When we arrived at the venue, I immediately noticed that we have been to this festival before some years back. Back then, we had come on stage right before Coldplay and a few of us even took pics with Gweneth Paltrow, who happens to not only be a big CH fan but also a big hip hop fan as well. Fast forward, we are now back and now ready to give the Belgium fans a taste of the new and improved show from the Hill. I was hoping that we would get a chance to check out Blink-182 but they were on a different stage from us. There was a big futbol game on between Germany and England so a bunch of people were sitting in front of a big tv monitor the festival had provided so people could watch this match. I enjoy watching futbol but I didn’t really bother since none of the teams that I like were playing so i went to catering instead. The catering here had some of the best food we’ve had doing these festival shows so it was good to eat something good. After that, we had a bit of press to do. After that, off to get a massage. Some of these festivals provide massage therapy while others don’t so if when they do, I take full advantage of it. Before you know it, it was time to hit the stage.

We have always had good shows here in Belgium and by the way the crowd was chanting for us, it was looking to be another good show to add to the list. We were playing our 45-minute set which was pretty much a power set meaning that we basically hit you with the hits without taking the energy down too much. After doing our 90-minute sets, 45-minutes are a breeze. We don’t take it any lighter just because of the set time. I think if we only had 10 minutes, we would make it the best 10 minutes that we can. The DJ/Percussion solo went over very well that people were clapping with the best and it sounded massive. All in all, the show went over well. Afterwards, some of the guys wanted to check out The Cure. Personally, I’ve seen them and to me, their show is a bit boring. I know a few of their songs and even back in the 80′s, I wasn’t much of a fan even though they do have a couple of cool songs. I do wish we were playing on the 2nd day where groups like Pearl Jam, Wiz Khalifa, Jack White and Deadmau5 were performing. Soon, we were back in the van to head back to the hotel. At least we were “green” for the ride back. The next day was a day off, which is always nice. Thanks Belgium for being a great crowd and we will be back in just over a week and a half for another festival.
