Enjoying a day off in Paris, France isn’t such a bad thing at all. I’ve always enjoyed coming to Paris despite all the rude stereotypes that France has. I think the rudeness comes more from the older people and not so much from the younger generation. Even so, France is a beautiful country and I think that it is definitely worth a visit if you ever get a chance. Even though it was a nice summer day, I kept myself inside the room so I could just lay back and enjoy doing nothing. B, Enas, Kenji, and Dougie went out to do some sightseeing and take pics for the BReal.tv site (which you all should check out when you have a chance) while Sen, J.J., DB and myself enjoyed our rooms. Believe it or not, it’s just what I needed.
Since the show was a bit outside of Paris, we left in the afternoon. We were headlining which meant that we were going on around 10pm or so and we would be doing our 90-minute set. We were definitely ready for that. As far as some of the other groups on the bill, I hadn’t heard of any of them. I didn’t get to check out any of the groups so I couldn’t tell you who was good or not but the vibe there was all about wanting to see CH. You can’t be too mad at that. In addition to that, we had gotten a hold of some herbal goodness that lifted our spirits and there was a nice French red wine that was waiting for me after the show. Before you knew it, it was time to hit the stage.
I have to say that this crowd was live!! France loves their hip hop and they show it. From our opening song “Get ‘Em Up” to “Rock Superstar”, they showed the energy and they gave us much love. The sound on stage was on point and that is always a big plus. I definitely feel more energy on stage since I’ve been working out and eating a bit more healthy. On a personal note, I needed to get back to this point because as strenuous as this job is, being too heavy and drinking heavy can stop you dead in your tracks. Now, I’m nowhere near being a “health” spokesman but realizing that I’m not in my 20′s anymore and the body doesn’t bounce back as quick as before, I needed to make a change so I can keep performing at the highest level possible and no I’m not talking about smoking herb. What’s great is that as a group, we are all on the same page so that helps a lot and it’s showing in how we are performing on this tour. The crowd was receptive to everything we were throwing at them from our new version of “Kill A Man” to the new weed medley, even to Sen-Dog doing his salsa dance steps during “Latin Thugs” which B Real joins me on percussion as well as on “Latin Lingo”. I know Sen loves the female screams when he does his Salsa dance steps. The dubstep songs from the “Cypress X Rusko” EP are also working out very well. Like I said, this show, from start to finish, was great and when we finally left the stage, the crowd was chanting “Cypress Hill” for like 10-15 minutes. Maybe next time, we will play for 2 hours.
After everything was packed up, it was time to head back to Paris. We had another show in France the next day us staying in Paris was the smartest thing to do because this show, like tomorrow’s show, are in the boonies. I almost forgot to mention, the French wine was delicious. Thanks Evruex for all the love and I hope we come back to this festival soon!!
