Best Buy Says Goodbye To CD’s

Published

on

Looks like Best Buy has officially stopped selling physical CDs at their stores nationwide. Starting today the electronics retailer will move forward from selling compact discs as a result of sales decreasing. A perfect example that showcases the power of streaming services such as Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and many others. While CDs have steadily become a thing of the past over the last few years, vinyl still serves as the perfect sense of nostalgia and will remain on Best Buy shelves for at least two more years.

Along with Best Buy, Target is also expected to reduce its amount of CDs offered in the upcoming months. Now getting a platinum plaque isn’t going to be as significant as it was back in the day, where they had to sell CD’s rather than getting their song streamed for a plaque.
