Back in 1999 about 24% of American adults smoked cigarettes. Today about 15% of American adults smoke cigarettes.
A new Gallup Poll just came out and reported that young adults today between the ages of 18 and 29 are more likely to smoke marijuana than cigarettes.
This new trend could have a significant impact on the Tobacco and Cannabis Industry. 22% of respondents aged 18 to 29 said that they smoked cannabis in the past week while 14% said they smoked cigarettes in that time.
Even though recreational marijuana is legal in 11 states, a higher percentage of young adults report smoking marijuana and vaping tobacco than say they smoke traditional cigarettes.
