A powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Iran’s mountainous border with Iraq, killing over 400 people and injuring more than 7,000. Rescue teams are looking for survivors trapped in the rubble of collapsed buildings. Over 70,000 needed shelter reported one aid, because people were scared to back into their homes.
The quake is the one deadliest in the world this year. Most of people who died from the deadly quake were in western Iran – in Sarpol-e-Zahab, a town 10 miles from the border & other parts of Kermanshah province. The town’s main hospital was severely damaged, leaving it struggling to treat hundreds of wounded, a state TV reported.
