Air Jordan 4 Metallic Purple

Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 4 “Metallic Purple” mixes OG Air Jordan 1 inspiration with a summer-ready color scheme. 1/4 of the “Metallic” pack alongside “Metallic Green,”“Metallic Red” and “Metallic Orange”colorways, it’s a compelling interpretation of niche Air Jordan inspirations, re-worked for the mass market. Now, ahead of its impending US release, retailer Sneaker Politics has provided a detailed look at the potent purple-accented silhouette.

The “Metallic Purple” moniker is bequeathed upon these crisp Air Jordans by way of the purple top and bottom eyestays, heel’s Jumpman logo, rich Air Max cushoning unit and the details on the large fabric tongue tag plus the tongue liner. As mentioned above, this hue is specifically inspired by 1985’s Air Jordan 1 “Metallic Purple.” The rest of the shoe is done up entirely in white, from the luxe tumbled leather uppers to the EVA foam midsole. Signature mesh netting is kept tonal on the quarter panel and throat as well. It’s a true testament to Tinker Hatfield‘s design prowess that the AJ4 still looks just as good as it did when Michael Jordan first made it iconic in the 1989 NBA Playoffs with “The Shot” against the Cleveland Cavaliers

Although its primary purpose has switched from performance to lifestyle in the 31 years that have passed since then, the Air Jordan 4 is still as beloved as ever — and fans will be able to add this “Metallic Purple” pair to their collections when it hits Sneaker Politics and Nike SNKRS on May 20. The MSRP is set at $190 USD.
