THE SOUND OF METAL
Sound of Metal teaches us a lesson. Sometimes we gotta accept what we have and move forward, especially to live a fulfilling life. Ruben in the film was like, “F that, I want my hearing back”. You pay the price for the things you want and sometimes it doesn’t turn out right. Ruben learned the hard way but in the end he did get peace and for the way the film was written to get the ending we see, it’s great. I praise the film for its use of sound, the dedication the actors put on to make this film believable. It’s hard to pretend to be deaf. The only thing I don’t like is the end of the second act where Ruben is able to raise what he needs to go get by but hey, he put himself into a situation where he fails to acknowledge what he really has. Lou changes too, A separation needed to happen to really get a bigger perspective on themselves and life in general. It’s funny how life works when you least expect it.
